“Hola
I wanted to plan a trip somewhere and was thinking of Costa Rica as my sister and I try to plan a trip every year and take our mom. We have been doing this for years and were not sure where our destination would be.
We had set our minds on Costa Rica and started planning; I have good friends who are familiar and they were helping me put together an itinerary, in the process they had just finished visiting Roatan for the 2nd time and raved about it. They encouraged me to go there knowing how much I loved the beach and clear waters that I longed for. I took their advice and incorporated Roatan on our next trip. We stayed in the West End, they said we made a good choice and upon arrival to our hotel/condo I knew instantly I was in love.
I was mesmerized by the colors of the water and the friendly people, I felt right at home immediately. We stayed 5 days and loved every minute of it. The food, the people and the scenery were heaven. We spent most of our time lounging on the beach, walking the beach, talking to locals and tourists and eating wonderful food, my favorite part was swimming and hanging out in the ocean and watching the fish swim with me. The joy it brought to me was unbelievable.
We left there and went to Costa Rica and it could never measure up to where I had just been and long to go back. Although Costa Rica was nice, I could not stop thinking about Roatan.
Since then my friends have purchased a home off Roatan, boat access only and are awaiting my arrival/return as they know I loved it as much as they do. I am so happy the restrictions are being lifted so I can plan my return trip and look for long term residence/options in Roatan or islands close by.
This is definitely my home, it calls me daily and I can’t wait to return and reside there asap.
Missing my soul’s desire…. Currently in California and ready to GO!”
